SHORT BIO

MARY STORI


Mary is an internationally recognized art quilt maker, fashion designer, instructor, lecturer, and quilt show judge who has authored a cookbook, six quilt books and the DVD; ”Mary Stori Teaches You Beading On Fabric".  She has been selected as a National Artisan for Bernina and named 2004 Teacher of the Year by the Professional Quilter. 


The International Quilt Study Center & Museum, University of Nebraska-Lincoln acquired Mary's quilt celebrity signature quilt, "Blood, Sweat, & Signatures" for their permanent collection in September 2017.  In 2018, the University of Wisconsin - UW Stout’s Historical Collection acquired the Mary Stori Collection - fifteen original garments created for her books and wearable art fashion shows. 


She has written extensively and had work appear in scores of quilt magazines and publications.  Her award winning work has been widely exhibited both nationally and internationally.  Mary has appeared on HGTV's "Simply Quilts" and "Sew Perfect" several times.  An entire episode of Fon's & Porter’s PBS series,  "Love of Quilting" featured her beaded embellished quilts. She designed the Mary Stori Collection for Kona Bay Fabrics, and her own line of stencils for Quilting Creations.  Mary hosted quilting cruises and tours for many years, developing friendships and sharing her techniques worldwide.  She’s had five shows exhibited at the North Carolina Arboretum.
